Avramopoulos & Partners was established in Athens in 1989 by its senior partners Vassilis D. Avramopoulos and Michael C. Poulakos to provide quality comprehensive legal advice in both the corporate and litigation arenas. M&A, particularly for international companies, is also a core area of practice, where clients include Cambridge University Press and Switzerland-based Affichage. It also advised the Bank of Attica on its merger with a subsidiary, Attica Leasing.

Avramopoulos & Partners Law Firm has recruited a new partner, former sole practitioner Athanassios Safaris, who will be focusing on EU and competition and brings with him a team of associates. Senior partner Alkis Economou heads the practice, which is particularly strong on public procurement. His team has recently been representing the European Commission before the European Court of Justice in a case against Olympic Airways, concerning aid provided to the latter by the Greek State. It also advised Balfour Beatty on filing a complaint with the European Commission, relating to the procedure of a tender issued by the Greek state railway company.

Avramopoulos & Partners Law Firm advised Clearwire Corp in relation to its participation in an international public tender for the granting of a specific radio frequency in Greece for the development of Wi-MAX technology, issued by the Greek Telecommunications Regulatory Authority. It is also advising the Greek Ministry of Transport and Communication on a contract between the State and Hellas Sat Consortium Ltd in relation to Greece's satellite system.
